now i'm finally where i belong

day 47: wednesday
- woke up at 8... and then passed out until 11
- got some toast and made tea for caryn, which i brought to her in bed... all in proper english style
- walked up to carisbrooke castle (where king charles I was imprisoned before his execution) with the family through the fields behind our house. charles and i charged about the castle a bit, wandered down to the bowling green and took pictures with the cannons and caryn, went through the museum with lots of bits of isle of wight history, and we watched jill the donkey turn the water wheel used to draw water from the well inside the castle with everyone.
- delicious lunch at the cottage: sandwiches, quiche, salad, crisps, juice, tea... everything!
- watched the end of the tour de france for the day and called the riding place and managed to book a hack at 1:30 tomorrow!
- headed off to needles with the family... a few bits of chalk off the farthest western point of the coast of the isle of wight that have eroded into little pointy bits in the water. the walk down the coast was very windy so we got pretty weather beaten
- took a scenic way home, past lots of fields of cows and sheep and through all these little tiny villages with thatched cottages and tearooms and high streets... it was so very english & lovely
- makeshift dinner of cheesy buttered pasta with tomato sauce, followed by a shower, uploading my pictures to facebook, and finishing lost in austen with my siblings (and caryn, of course)
